Doug and Joan Johnston have almost 45 years of combined real estate experience and knowledge of the Treasure Valley. They brought their family to Idaho from California in 1994 and became realtors with Coldwell Banker Tomlinson shortly after. Doug and Joan have had a successful and rewarding career, closing more than 1,000 real estate transactions. They are passionate about helping their clients achieve their real estate goals, whether selling or buying.
Doug has a vast knowledge of construction and building of new homes. He represented many of the area’s top home builders in multiple subdivisions throughout the valley. He utilizes this construction knowledge by offering guidance to buyers through the new home building process and suggesting home repairs to sellers and buyers. He is known for his strong negotiating skills and work ethic. Doug works tirelessly to represent his clients’ best interests in every matter.
Joan utilizes her knowledge of cutting edge technology to successfully market homes. She also loves working with buyers to help them find the perfect property, from a first-time home to commercial real estate. Joan believes communication is key to success and strives to stay in constant touch throughout every real estate transaction and beyond.
Doug and Joan are very family oriented and have two beautiful daughters, Jaimee and Sam, and two grandchildren, Ellie and Hayden. Most weekends will find them heading out to watch Sam competing in a cross-country race or heading downtown to attend one of Jaimee’s many art shows. Doug and Joan have also developed close relationships with many of their clients and treat everyone ‘just like family.’
Supporting the community is very important to Doug and Joan. They developed a successful charity project to provide Christmas presents and a party for children in need at Meridian Elementary. They also work with the City of Light Mission to provide clothes for women and children who have been displaced due to difficult family situations. Giving back to others is a core principle for Doug and Joan and it is part of their integrity and foundation.
